Brent Nishikawa (Drums)
Born
and raised in the heights of Aiea, Brent grew up playing music with his
family friends of Milo Shade.
Brent attended Iolani all his life and moved to California to attend Menlo College, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Resource Management and Business Management.
He has been drumming for the brethrens of One Groove since its creation.
His musical inspirations were generated by four main people in his life: his grandfather K.K., father Marcus (the Jokers), Uncle Dale Nishikawa (Glass Candle) and Uncle Roy Yamachi (who gave Brent his first drum set).
Although his father and grandfather are no longer here with us today, he explains, "I now live my musical endeavors through their spirits. May they smile down on me. In loving memory of Marcus and K.K. Nishikawa."
